accio harry potter.

Harry potter Midnight Showing tickets? Check yes.
well, actually-it's 12:02.
last time, some friends and I went at 3 am...
and then some of us had class the next day at 7 (not really a good idea, but completely worth it)
Midnight showings are the best-i love seeing what people have to wear, and being the first to see it. the only downside is no assigned seating like Utah.
I'm glad I don't have to wait the next 18 months to see it:)

the song that brings back good memories.

this song is one of my favorite songs. we sung it with the jubilee choir for an apostle out at school. it completely changed my view on the song and the meaning of the words. there are certain songs that bring back so many good memories- this is one of them.

this one is dedicated to summer

Summer (besides fall) is one of my favorite seasons of the year.
despite the heat waves, and rain cancelling out fireworks for the fourth, summer brings back a lot of great memories for me and brings so many more.

Hurrah for summer.

Hurrah for the adventures, summer jobs (i have the best yet), receiving a second mission call, the last harry potter movie, traveling, hiking, working, and spending time with family and a trip to see my sister.

Hurrah for past summers that have been filled with school, bonfires, staying out late, endless game nights, ward youth trips and camping.

Here's to summer. Summer 2011, halfway-in between; that is!

Flashmob, round 2!

While I was out in Salt Lake, our Improv Club hosted a flashmob in and around temple square of random proposals.(I was NOT ever engaged...)

A flashmob is when you have a group of people together and organize a random out burst of something. Most of the time, it's just breaking out into music and dancing.

Last weekend my family and I went to Colonial Williamsburg the day after the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Concert-

Which, the concert was (as always is!) amazing. They had the governor as an honorary conductor for the encore song; which was just as funny to watch. They sang one of my favorite songs-betelehemu; which sounds just as awesome live. We also got to preview the soundtrack and talk with Mack Wilburg after the soundcheck before the concert.
The next day, we went off to Colonial Willasmburg for their re-enactment of historical events (watch this video and this one for a bit more feel of the whole thing.) The choir after the re-enactment was over, sang a patriotic song for all of us first. At first, some were confused as to what was going on.
Then the announcer requested us to pull out our song copies of the old patriotic song, Yankee Doodle. The announcer afterwords, then went on to announce that we had just sung with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

This was pretty much, the most awesome-est experience I've had yet here in Williamsburg. I hope they do this again.

Birthday!!!!!

Rapunzel: So mother, earlier I was saying tomorrow is a really big day, and you didn't really respond, so I'm just gonna tell you: IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! Tada!
Mother Gothel: No no no, can't be. I distinctly remember, your birthday was last year.
Rapunzel: That's the funny thing about birthdays, they're kind of an annual thing.

Haha, well I definitely had an amazing birthday this year. My friend and I threw a neon party with some friends a week ago to celebrate both of our birthdays while we were both still here and had a blast with that. A week later, my birthday rolled around again (and It was also my last day in Utah!). Some friends and I decided to wake up 5:30 in the morning to Hike Ensign Peak before Stake Conference that morning.

Ensign Peak itself is a fair hike. It's about 20 minutes up and 20 minutes back, all depending on how fast you go. It was freezing cold that morning, but the hike itself was all worth it! After the hike, we ran off to change for stake conference. Stake Conference itself was amazing. I love it when Easter Weekend and Stake Conference happen to fall on my birthday weekend. It helps me focus on the blessings that I have been given and my savior. After-words, Another good friend of mine found out it was my birthday and so they sang to me at the pancake breakfast after:)

A couple hours later, we headed to the Bountiful Temple. One thing I love about Utah is how many temples there are nearby, that make it so easy to go. It's going to be hard being away from that easy access of going to the temple. The closest temple I have here is the Washington D.C temple, and that's a 2 hour drive away, which isn't so bad, it's just not a block away like it used to be.

After the Bountiful Temple, My sister came and picked me up to celebrate my birthday with me! We stopped by the Hymas' reception, and she treated me to the roof for dessert.

What an amazing Birthday! The only downside to the day was my flight that evening at 1:00am (really the next day) It was so hard to stay awake, but the day was so worth it:)
