Devotional Teusdays

This Tuesday for the first time in weeks, I was able to attend the devotional they have here at the BC. I wasn't even really planning on it, but I actually had a free moment in my scheduled right at that time, which never happens on Tuesdays because of work or the Internship. It was so worth my time.
This Devotional's speaker was none other than Elizabeth Smart's mom, Sister Smart. (If you haven't heard of the story, look it up.) She was amazing. The title of the devotional was:
The Critical Role of Being a mother:
In this devotional, She took examples of different mothers and related her own personal trials to them, and the trials and examples they had that made them a rightous mother. Some of the mothers were:
Eve-the mother of all mothers
Mary-the mother of God.
Lucy Mack Smith-mother of a prophet

Highlights:
"The Lord is counting on us. If we don't, then who else will"
"We have reinforcements because we have the gospel of Jesus Christ"
"There will always be a shortage of police if there is always a shortage of families."
-Adam and Eve were willing to give it all up for a better cause because they knew it was an eternal necessity.
-2000 Stripling Warriors: "We did not doubt because our mothers knew it"
"Who will we turn to in tough times? Will we trust in God or become bitter?"
"Be prayerful. Great is the power of prayer. Nothing can separate you from this."
"There is no limit, no appointment, to reach the throne of grace."
"He wants us all to have personal knowledge that he does answer our prayers"

Key Points:
-Show an outpouring of love
-Have faith and be faithful
-Trust in God
-Teach by example
-Show compassion by serving
-be prayerful
-Have a sense of humor

After I had attended devotional that day, It just seemed to me like everything else fell into place for that day. It really testified to me that If you're in the right place at the right time, then all else really willvfall into place. I highly recomend attending devotionals at the BC. They have a way of making your week or day ten times better.
